PTA – Friends of Plascrug

Parents & Teachers Association

Ffrindiau Ysgol Plascrug / Friends of Plascrug School

A successful school relies upon the goodwill and active involvement of the parents, and in this respect Plascrug School is no exception. Besides membership of the PTA, we value the skills and time you have to offer. There are a number of ways you can help your child(ren) and enhance the life of the school.

Firstly you can help your children with basic literacy and numeracy skills by:

  • Reading with your children
  • Listening to them reading
  • Supporting the Home Reading Scheme
  • Encouraging their use of numbers at home
  • Supporting them with any homework

Secondly, we need your talents, skills and experiences within school. If you can spare time during the day and can offer help with…

  • Developing computer skills, (ICT)
  • Reading
  • Maths games
  • Art and craft
  • Music
  • Mounting work for displays

…we need your help!

Thirdly, many of our extra-curricular activities rely on supportive staff and parents for success. If you can help…

  • To take children to matches and competitions,
  • To supervise on trips or sports days…

…please contact your class teacher or Head of Department if you feel you can contribute in any way. We greatly appreciate your support!

Parent Teacher Association – Friends of the School

All parents are automatically members of the PTA. We hope you will support activities and events, and actively contribute to the invaluable work done by parents to support children’s education at Plascrug School.

The PTA organises fund-raising events and social events, which vary in nature from fetes to quizzes, jazz nights to barbecues. There are many social events held throughout the year for family get-togethers and adult socialising.

The PTA notice board displays useful information and the termly newsletter keeps you abreast of all the latest events and activities at the school. Please try and read them regularly.

The PTA exists to help parents become involved in the life of the school. It is important that as many parents as possible attend the Annual General Meeting in the early part of the Autumn Term so that new parents can be introduced to the school and become actively involved from the outset.

Please ask at Plascrug School Reception if you require further information about the PTA.
