Year 6 - @Bl6Plascrug

Welcome back to a brand new term.
Croeso nol i dymor newydd.
For the next five weeks, the pupils have planned an 'Arctic' themed term.
We will be exploring the Arctic through the animals and habitats found there, looking at the eradication of the ice caps in both poles due to human neglect, discovering how explorers survive in such harsh conditions and debating climate change and the effect on their future.
We've had a class 'makeover'! The year 6 classrooms now have areas where pupils can reinforce skills, take time to complete additional challenges, or use for their own independent learning during free time or wet playtimes.
We have used the amazing profits from the Christmas Fair to purchase comfortable beanbags, games, reading books, Engino sets and many more items to kit out our Science and Technology, Literacy and Numeracy areas. Diolch blant a da iawn chi!
What else is happening?

The Bronze Ambassadors and Sports Leaders will be busy this term - let's hope the sun shines for them!
The Intergenerational Club, Clwb Ni, is back in full swing after the Christmas holidays. I'm sure there are many tales to tell and games to play over the next term.
Many of our pupils will be taking part in their final Urdd Eisteddfod for Plascrug this year. Pob lwc i chi gyd!
Eisteddfod Dydd Gwyl Dewi will take place on March 1st - which Team Captains will lead their teams to victory this year?
Llongyfarchiadau mawr i'r Tim Pelrhwyd. A big congratulations to the Urdd Netball Team who won the Area tournament. They will now represent  the Aberystwyth Area in the County tournament on Friday, Feb 2nd!
Letters will be sent out this term asking for the next installment for the Sealyham trip.
Homework will be handed out regulary. It is the pupils responsibility to use their homewrok diaries to note their homework and due dates. Completing homework is important as it will reinforce the pupils previous learning and will support them in upcoming tasks. It will also help them orgnaise themselves ready for Comprehensive School.
