This term our theme is 'Disaster Zone'
We have been to the university to find out about rivers and the dangers caused when there is flooding. Dr Hywel Griffiths answered the pupils' questions and he was very impressed with their enthusiasm and general knowledge.
We had some marvellous written reponses from the pupils as they investigated various examples of flooding throughout Wales and the wider world. It was really interesting to hear of the personal recollections of recent flooding in Aberystwyth.
We were able to visit the mouth Ystwyth river to look at various river features. We had beautiful weather on the day and we were able to draw and annotate maps of the area.
Throughout this year we will be investigating aspects of the 19th Century. Above are some stunning examples of clothing from this time, kindly on loan from Ceredigion Museum.
We have been carrying out science investigations. At the present time we have been finding out about how materials can be changed.
