Extra Curricular

There are so many extracurricular for all pupils to enjoy!

Rygbi / Rugby

Weekly training sessions are held in the Autumn/spring terms. These sessions are open to children from Years 4-6. The school is very proud of its team as it is recognised as one of the stronger teams in Ceredigion, and reached the Urdd finals many times.

Pêl-droed / Football

Teams play regularly in the Aberystwyth schools leagues and have a very high profile at all times. Practice sessions are arranged at the end of the school day and matches are usually held on Friday afternoons.

Hoci / Hockey

Teams participate in the local leagues. Matches are often held on a Saturday and practice sessions are arranged at the start of the school year.

Gymnasteg / Gymnastics

This club is open to all KS2 pupils (Years 3-6) in the first term, thereafter it is for the Gymnastics team only. The latter has been consistently successful in recent years at the Urdd National competitions, and have also been National Champions on many occasions.

Chwaraeon Eraill / Other Sports

A whole range of other sporting activities is also arranged. Netball and Cross-country Running clubs meet during lunchtimes, Athletics training takes place in the Summer term during lunch break and school teams also participate in Disco Dancing, Creative Dance, Cricket and swimming competitions.

Cerddorfa / Orchestra

The school has an excellent orchestra which meets during lunchtime breaks and regularly performs at assembly. Instrumentalists have the opportunity to play with the County Primary Schools orchestra which rehearse after school. There are also opportunities for recorder and choral ensembles during the course of a school year.

Clwb Garddio / Gardening Club

A Gardening Club is held during lunchtimes in the summer term.

Ymweliadau a Gwibdeithiau / Visits and Excursions

Throughout the year, children have opportunities to visit the Theatre, places of interest in town and further a field. Such experiences support the work done in the Curriculum.

Clwb Yr Urdd | Urdd Club

A branch of the Urdd meets on a weekly basis. Membership is open to all children in Year 2 and above;  a small fee of £5 is required. The Urdd Club supports and enhances the use of Welsh via sporting and cultural activities. Members have the opportunity to attend and compete in the annual Urdd Eisteddfod and to enjoy outings and visits.
