The Governing Body :
The Governing Body have a general responsibility for seeing that the school is run effectively, acting within the framework set by legislation and that the policies of the Local Education Authority (LEA) and the Welsh Government are adhered to.
The Headteacher and Governing Body work in a close and balanced partnership to provide the best possible education for the pupils at Plascrug School. Governors work with the Headteacher to think strategically about how to raise standards of achievement for all pupils at the school, for setting the budget and for overseeing the curriculum. They also have powers with respect to the appointment and dismissal of staff and the exclusion and re-instatement of pupils.
The full Governing Body meets at least once each term. There are also four different sub-committees that also meet termly; Finance & Staffing; Curriculum & Policy; Health & Safety / Building & Premises. The meetings are generally held in the evenings.
What is a Governor?

All areas of the school and the local community are represented on the Governing Body and there are different types of Governors:
