Information on Attendance
In accordance with the Ceredigion Inclusion Service Strategy for Improving School Attendance, the Governing Body aims to:

Promote and support excellent school attendance by direct work with schools, pupils & their families.

Adopt appropriate school procedures to improve attendance and set a target for attendance in line with Welsh Government and Local Education Authority (LEA) targets in the Autumn Term full Governing Body meeting.
The importance of regular attendance cannot be overestimated. Regular attendance is a prerequisite to a good education and securing it must therefore be a high priority for schools and their Governing Bodies, as well as for parents and the pupils themselves. By failing to attend regularly, pupils diminish the value of the education provided for them. They may also damage the learning of others because fluctuations in the size of pupil groups may restrict the scope for effective teaching.
The approach to attendance relates to a wide range of other issues, including punctuality, rewards and incentives, re-integration of long-term absentees, curricular differentiation, home-school links and the role of the Local Education Authority (LEA).
At Plascrug, the Headteacher has overall responsibility for attendance. Attendance is co-ordinated and monitored by the Deputy Headteacher, who will provide regular reports to the Governing Body.
Holidays during term-time
When families have NO alternative but to arrange holidays during term-time, then permission to be absent must be requested from the Headteacher who has discretion to allow a maximum of two weeks leave during the school year for exceptional circumstances only. The appropriate holiday form should be completed and these are obtainable from Reception.

• Hyrwyddo a chefnogi presenoldeb rhagorol yn yr ysgol trwy waith uniongyrchol gydag ysgolion, disgyblion a'u teuluoedd.
• Mabwysiadu gweithdrefnau ysgol briodol i wella presenoldeb a gosod targed ar gyfer presenoldeb yn unol â thargedau Llywodraeth Cymru a'r Awdurdod Addysg Leol (AALl) yn y cyfarfod llawn y Corff Llywodraethol yn Nhymor yr Hydref.
Ni all y pwysigrwydd o bresenoldeb rheolaidd gael ei oramcangyfrif. Mae presenoldeb rheolaidd yn rhagofyniad ar gyfer addysg dda ac mae sicrhau hynny, felly, yn flaenoriaeth uchel ar gyfer ysgolion a'u Cyrff Llywodraethol, yn ogystal ag ar gyfer rhieni a'r disgyblion eu hunain. Drwy fethu bod yn bresennol yn rheolaidd, mae'r disgyblion yn lleihau gwerth yr addysg a ddarperir ar eu cyfer. Efallai y byddant hefyd yn amharu ar ddysgu eraill oherwydd gall amrywiadau yn faint y grwpiau o ddisgyblion gyfyngu ar y cwmpas ar gyfer addysgu effeithiol.
Mae'r dull o bresenoldeb yn ymwneud ag ystod eang o faterion eraill, gan gynnwys prydlondeb, gwobrau a chymhellion, ail-integreiddio absennol yn y tymor hir, gwahaniaethu cwricwlaidd, cysylltiadau cartref-ysgol a rôl yr Awdurdod Addysg Leol (AALl).
Ym Mhlascrug, mae’r Pennaeth yn gyfrifol yn gyffredinol am bresenoldeb. Mae presenoldeb yn cael ei gydlynu a'i fonitro gan y Dirprwy Bennaeth, a fydd yn darparu adroddiadau rheolaidd i'r Corff Llywodraethol.
Gwyliau yn ystod y tymor
Pan NAD oes gan deuluoedd ddewis ond i drefnu eu gwyliau yn ystod y tymor, yna rhaid gwneud cais i'r Pennaeth am ganiatâd i fod yn absennol. Mae gan y Pennaeth ddisgresiwn i ganiatáu hyd at uchafswm o ddwy wythnos o wyliau yn ystod y flwyddyn ysgol ar gyfer amgylchiadau eithriadol yn unig. Dylai'r ffurflen wyliau priodol gael ei gwblhau ac mae'r rhain ar gael gan y Dderbynfa.
